Born in Québec in 1972, Allard began his playing career in 1989 in the QMJHL, one of Canada’s top junior leagues, before moving to Europe in 1993. He spent many years shaping the French top club HC Grenoble, winning the national championship in 1998. His career also took him to the Manchester Storm in the then highly competitive British Ice Hockey Superleague (BISL) and back to the French Ligue Magnus, where he retired as a player in 2005. Holding dual Canadian and French citizenship, Allard also represented the French national team at World Championships and competed at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.

After retiring as a player, Allard pursued a degree in Kinesiology at the University of Montréal. His expertise led him to the NHL’s Montréal Canadiens, where he spent several years as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, contributing to the development of numerous players, including Nikita Scherbak.

Allard’s on-ice coaching career picked up momentum in the 2010s, taking him to several top European clubs. His tenure at EHC Red Bull München was particularly influential, serving as Assistant Coach for four years and winning the German Championship in 2023. Most recently, he was part of the coaching staff at Genève-Servette HC in the Swiss National League, where he played a central role in developing the team’s athletic and tactical program.
