The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg have notched up their second win in the win2day ICE Hockey League this weekend. After a clear 5-2 home win over HK SZ Olimpija, the ninth-placed team now has 34 points – one more than at the end of last year’s regular season.
In the second game on Saturday, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey pulled off a rollercoaster win at the spusu Vienna Capitals. After taking an early lead and trailing by two goals, the Italians won 4-3 in overtime.

Tomorrow, Sunday, is the last game day before the second IIHF break. The 354th Kärtner Derby between Villach and Klagenfurt will be broadcast live on PULS24 from 5.05 pm, while the other three games will be offered on www.live.ice.hockey (PPV).

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey also won its third duel of the season against the spusu Vienna Captials. As in the first meeting in Vienna, the Italians prevailed after overtime, this time winning 4-3. After taking an early lead through Bryce Misley (4.), Asiago had to concede three goals by the 47th minute, as the Viennese looked more stable and controlled the game. However, the visitors struck twice at the start of the final ten minutes of regulation, when William Rapuzzi (51.) scored his eighth goal in the last ten games and Stevano Marchetti (53.) lit the lamp. In overtime, the Caps wasted a long powerplay before Asiago completed its comeback through Michele Marchetti (64.). With its eighth win of the season, twelfth-placed Asiago drew level with Vienna.

Pioneers dominate tired Ljubljana
The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg celebrated another success after their 3-2 home win over Villach on Friday, beating a tired-looking HK SZ Olimpija 5-2. The Pioneers dominated the game, scored three times on the powerplay and never ran the risk of letting the game slip out of their hands. It was the third win in the third game against the Slovenians, which also had to relinquish ninth place to the Pioneers. With now 34 points, the Vorarlberg team has already scored more points 20 games before the end of the regular season than in their premiere campaign 22-23 (33).
