In the PULS 24 live match, two teams face each other who started the season with a defeat. The league newcomers from Vorarlberg were beaten 3:0 in Bolzano - including the preseason, it was the third game in a row in which the Pioneers failed to score a goal. EC-KAC, on the other hand, got off to a false start despite taking an early lead, the Redcoats losing 5:2 in Innsbruck to accept their first away defeat in the Tyrolean capital since December 2019. The Pioneers' home game against the KAC on Sunday will be the first league game in the highest division that the Vorarlberghalle in Feldkirch has seen since 19 March 2004, when Klagenfurt were the guests as well: the Carinthians won 4:3 after shootout in front of 2,345 spectators. The EC-KAC will have to do without the injured Kele Steffler and Johannes Bischofberger, Lukas Haudum and Sebastian Dahm are questionable.

Bolzano celebrated a 3:0 opening win over the Pioneers on Friday, with two early goals laying the foundation for the victory. HCB goalie Andreas Bernard had a shutout, saving all 22 shots on goal. Olimpija, who had to admit defeat four times in the Champions Hockey League so far, was still match-free on Friday and now enters the championship. The Slovenians were at the top of the table for a long time last season, also qualified for the quarter-finals and won both season duels with Bolzano.

Referees: TRILAR, ZRNIC, Hribar, Zgonc | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<

The start of the new win2day ICE Hockey League season did not go according to plan for both Pustertal and Villach. The team from Bruneck had to admit defeat at home against Féhervár with 1:4, the Carinthians went empty-handed in Linz. In the preseason, the Wolves were guests in Villach and conceded a clear 3:7 defeat. Last season, however, all four duels ended with an away win. VSV head coach Rob Daum will have to do without convalescent Felix Maxa, Julian Payr due to an upper body injury and John Hughes, who is ill.
