Layne Viveiros returns to the win2day ICE Hockey League tonight, Thursday. The 27-year-old missed all of last season due to a serious knee injury. This summer, Viveiros finally made a comeback and already completed the entire rehabilitative training with the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg. Now the league newcomer has signed the defender permanently. In the game against Villach (LIVE on live.ice.hockey), the 2016 champion will be in the Pioneers' lineup for the first time.

After a long injury break, the former EC Red Bull Salzburg player will return to the ICE this Thursday. Layne Viveiros crowned himself champion with the Red Bulls in 2016. The 27-year-old also made 51 appearances for the Austrian national team.

This summer, the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg and Viveiros reached a training agreement. This was aimed at offering the injury-plagued player the best possible conditions to find his way back to his old strength, as was the case with Julian Payr in the past, for example. A central factor for both sides was not to put Viveiro's rebuilding training under time pressure. He was carefully introduced by Pioneers Head Coach Mark Habscheid and Co. to the strain of a professional hockey player.

As a result, the defender was signed with the Pioneers for the upcoming season and will be in the league newcomer's lineup as early as today (Thursday) against Villach. Viveiros' first game after about a year and a half will be LIVE on live.ice.hockey.
