In front of more than 2,000 fans, Asiago jumped out to a 2-0 lead inside six minutes, with Porco scoring the second. Zell am See outshot Asiago 39-19 but beat Rudy Rigoni only once.
"It was a great start. We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we came in, played hard, and it's nice to get the three points," said Porco. He also had praise for the man between the pipes: "Our goalie played really well. I just thought we moved our feet really well all night, we were really detailed."

Respect for the young Klagenfurt squad
For the Future Team, tonight is the first game of the season since returning to the Alps Hockey League. Most of the roster played for the club's U20 team last season. "On Tuesday we play KAC Future Team, a new team that we don't know much about yet. They have a lot of young players, but I think we can't make the mistake of underestimating them. I'm sure we'll stay focused and make sure we don't slip up," the winger stressed.

He is also looking forward to the home crowd: "I can't wait to play our first league game at the Odegar, in front of our fans. They cheer us on in the good moments and support us through the difficult ones."
