Champion Salzburg plays first TV game
Right at the start of the new season, there will be an absolute clash. The reigning champion EC Red Bull Salzburg will face the spusu Vienna Capitals in a PULS 24 live match. The two league newcomers Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and Bemer Pioneers Vorarlberg will play against the Moser Medical Graz99ers and the HCB Südtirol Alperia respectively. In the second TV game, the Bemer Pioneers Vorarlberg will face the EC-KAC on Sunday, September 18th. The first Carinthian derby between the KAC and the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV will take place on October 26th in Klagenfurt.

Changes to the schedule still possible
The 14 teams of the win2day ICE Hockey League still have the possibility to postpone individual match days by mutual agreement with the opposing team until August 1st, 2022. Finally, the final game schedule will be communicated no later than four weeks before the start of the league.

Road trips and regional Christmas rounds
For logistical and infrastructural reasons, road trips are also set for the upcoming 2022/23 season. During the Christmas period, as in the past four seasons, there will again be as many regional pairings as possible due to the denser match interval.

Same game mode as last season
As was the case last season, the top six teams will qualify for the quarterfinals after the Regular Season. The teams ranked seventh to tenth will again play for the remaining two quarterfinal participants in the pre-playoffs ("best-of-3"). From the quarterfinals onwards, all rounds will be played in "best-of-7" mode. The champion of the 2022/23 season will be decided after a maximum of 419 games.
