The Moser Medical Graz99ers suffered a defeat after three wins in a row: They lost 3:2 away to the Augsburg Panthers. The Styrians survived early penalties, but the hosts took a 1:0 lead in the 14th minute through Alex Grenier. Grenier made it 2:0 in the second period before Nick Bailen pulled one back. However, Elias made it 3:1 for the Panthers shortly before the break. Nick Swaney quickly reduced the deficit to 2:3 in the final period, but the game remained tense as Graz pressed for the equaliser and even took the goalie off the ice - but a penalty against Kevin Roy prevented the comeback.

HC Falkensteiner Pustertal played another preseason game at EV Landshut just 24 hours after the test in Nuremberg. The South Tyroleans initially created good chances (Ierullo, Frycklund, Bowlby), but were denied several times by the strong EVL goalie Langmann. Blum made it 1:0 after 22 minutes with a blueliner, then Purdeller increased the lead to 2:0 after a nice combination (25'). Landshut reduced the deficit shortly afterwards, followed by heated scenes: Dresch was sent off after a check to the head and HCP player Rueschhoff was unable to continue. Despite being on power play, Pustertal failed to score. Instead, Lindberg equalised in the 37th minute to make it 2:2. The Germans took control in the third period and took the lead through Stümpel (47'). Pustertal pressed for the equaliser, but failed again and again against goalie Langmann. Landshut made everything clear in the final phase: Scheibengraber (58') and Wenzel with an empty net (59') made it 5:2.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 took part in a preparatory tournament in Remetea, Romania, at the weekend. The Hungarians opened with a clear 6:1 victory over KS Cracovia from Poland. On Sunday, however, head coach Dávid Kiss's team were beaten 3:1 by a Hungarian U25 team in the final. Drake Rymsha scored the only goal for Fehérvár in the first period.
