The European Women’s Hockey League has reached its decisive phase – the playoffs. Eight teams will compete in knockout duels with a home-and-away format for the coveted title. The entire quarterfinal round will be completed this upcoming weekend. The teams that advance to the semifinals will be those with the better aggregate score over both games. The first game can end in a tie. If the aggregate score is level after the second leg, the decision will go into overtime.

HK PSRZ Bratislava vs. Budapest Jegkorong Akademia
HK PSRZ Bratislava finished the regular season in first place and had the first pick in selecting their quarterfinal opponent. Bratislava chose Budapest Jegkorong Akademia, the team that finished seventh in the regular season. In their two regular-season encounters, Bratislava secured dominant victories with a combined score of 14:2. Budapest will host the first game on Friday at 18:50 CET, while the decisive second leg will take place in Bratislava on Sunday.

Aisulu Almaty vs. Tauron Metropolia Silesia
Aisulu Almaty finished second in the regular season and selected Tauron Metropolia Silesia, who finished eighth. Aisulu secured two shutout victories in their previous matchups, with a combined score of 7:0. Both quarterfinal games will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Aisulu’s home venue.

EVB Eagles South Tyrol vs. KSV Highlanders
The Eagles from Bolzano finished the regular season in third place and chose the KSV Highlanders from the two remaining teams. Their two regular-season meetings were thrilling, with the away team emerging victorious in both games by a narrow 4:3 margin. Both games will take place in Bolzano on Saturday and Sunday.

MAC Budapest vs. Sabres St. Pölten
MAC Budapest did not have a choice – they were matched against Sabres St. Pölten in the quarterfinals. A team that does not seem to suit the Hungarian squad well, as they suffered defeats in both regular-season matchups – though the last game was decided in a shootout. The series kicks off on Friday in St. Pölten, with the decisive second leg taking place in Budapest on Sunday.
