Tom McCollum spent the majority of his career in North America, primarily in the American Hockey League and the ECHL. He also made three appearances in the NHL for the Detroit Red Wings. In 2020, McCollum made the leap to Europe and signed with HC TIWAG Innsbruck in the win2day ICE Hockey League. He stood between the posts for the Tyroleans for three seasons. In 119 league appearances, the now 35-year-old achieved a save percentage of almost 90 percent. Last season, the US-American won the Regular Season of the EIHL in Great Britain with the Belfast Giants and became DEL2 champion with the Eisbären Regensburg in the 2023/24 season.

Tom McCollum: “My family is really looking forward to coming to Kitzbühel and I myself can't wait to get on the ice and play in front of the fans. From what I've seen, the team has performed very well in the past. For me, every season starts with the goal of winning a championship and that starts with the preparation. I'm really looking forward to getting started.”

“Our goal in the search for a new goalie was to find the best in the league. With Tom McCollum, we should have succeeded. No one of this caliber has ever played in Kitzbühel before. He's also a great person and his personality and experience will certainly help our young team,” says sports director Wilfried Wetzl enthusiastically about this transfer coup.”
