The win2day ICE Hockey League has awarded the exclusive free TV broadcasting rights for the coming season to the ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 Group and ORF. The two channels PULS 24 and ORF Sport+ will share the rights package and will show a total of up to 46 matches live.

PULS 24 enters its fifth hockey season
Hockey has been an integral part of PULS 24's program since 2020, and the win2day ICE Hockey League even set a ratings record in the last playoffs: The final six and seven games between EC-KAC and EC Red Bull Salzburg made PULS 24 the strongest private TV channel in primetime in the entire Austrian television market. PULS 24, Austria's free super streamer JOYN and puls24.at will broadcast up to 29 games in the 2024/2025 season. In addition to seven games in the Regular Season, PULS 24 and JOYN will show one match per playoff matchday from the quarterfinals onwards.
Mario Lenz, Head of Current Productions, PULS 4: “We want to provide our viewers on PULS 24 and JOYN with the best possible range of sports content. The win2day ICE Hockey League is one of the most attractive sports leagues nationally, as the thrilling final series last season showed. We are delighted about the extension of the partnership and look forward to many exciting matches.”

League hockey now also on ORF
After ORF has always shown the game highlights in various formats since the league was founded, Austria's public broadcaster will also broadcast live from the ice rinks in the 2024/25 ICE season: ORF Sport+ will show up to 21 games - twelve of them in the Regular Season. The decisive games in the final will be live for the first time on both PULS 24 and ORF Sport+.

ORF Head of Sport Hannes Aigelsreiter: “Hockey is booming in Austria, the success of the national team at the last A-World Championship tournaments is more than remarkable. The basis for this is of course the win2day ICE Hockey League, whose arenas are filled to capacity match day after match day and which achieve great coverage. We are therefore all the more delighted that the league matches will now also be shown on ORF - alongside the Hockey World Cup 2025, for example. ORF would like to thank the new league presidium for their trust in entering into a new type of media cooperation with private and public broadcasters for the benefit of all hockey fans.

League President Dr. Alexander Gruber: “One of the most important goals of the new Executive Committee is to increase the reach of our sport. It is therefore all the more pleasing that we will be entering the new season with two strong partners. Over the past four years, we have already been able to build a lot together in our consistently professional collaboration with PULS 24. In addition, we know - through the broadcasts of the Champions Hockey League and the national team - how important ice hockey is to ORF and we look forward to taking the next steps together here as well. Through these partnerships and the league live streaming, we can offer an even broader live presence for the win2day ICE Hockey League and attract new fans.”
