HC Falkensteiner Pustertal reclaimed first place after a home win against Innsbruck. EC Red Bull Salzburg earned an overtime victory in the ORF live game against EC-KAC. The Moser Medical Graz99ers strengthened their position inside the Top 6 with a win over HCB Südtirol Alperia, while the Steinbach Black Wings Linz closed in as they defeated former league leaders Olimpija Ljubljana. Also returning to the Top 6 is EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV, who claimed an important road win at Hydro Fehérvár AV19.
Red Bulls edge KAC in overtime
The ORF live matchup delivered exactly what was expected. In a rematch of last year’s final, EC Red Bull Salzburg secured a dramatic overtime win. The opening period was physical but remained scoreless. The second frame brought the action: Klagenfurt struck first through Raphael Herburger, who battled hard in a chaotic sequence to push the puck across the line. Soon after, Salzburg had a power-play opportunity, but instead it was Simeon Schwinger who converted shorthanded for the 2–0 lead. Mario Huber responded quickly with his 300th career point in the win2day ICE Hockey League, cutting the deficit to 1–2. KAC capitalized on another power play, yet Salzburg answered before the intermission with goals from Lukas Thaler and Brandon Coe to make it 3–3. Neither side found a winner in the third period. In overtime, Simon Schwinger narrowly missed on a breakaway before Coe struck moments later with his second of the night to seal the road victory.
Black Wings hand Olimpija a setback
The Steinbach Black Wings Linz earned a crucial win over Olimpija Ljubljana, who entered the round as league leaders. Linz came out strong, taking the lead just over three minutes in through Julian Pusnik. In the second period, Graham Knott and Emilio Romig extended the advantage to 3–0 with two power-play markers. Olimpija responded before the break with two goals to make it 3–2. The Dragons pressed heavily for the equalizer in the third, but Rasmus Tirronen stood tall in the Linz net. An empty-netter secured the 4–2 victory for the home side.
Graz99ers defeat Bolzano
The Moser Medical Graz99ers recorded a 6–3 home win over HCB Südtirol Alperia. Despite the visitors controlling early possession, it was Graz captain Michael Schiechl who opened the scoring. Bolzano replied promptly on the power play. In the second period, the Foxes again seemed to have the momentum, but the 99ers delivered on the scoreboard: Josh Currie restored the lead before Graz struck twice on a 5-on-3 power play. The hosts managed the game well from there, and Paul Huber extended the lead to 5–1 in the third period. Bolzano reduced the deficit, but Graz sealed the 6–3 result late and kept their direct table rival at bay.
VSV return to the Top 6
EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV earned a convincing 4–1 road victory at Hydro Fehérvár AV19, climbing back into the Top 6. The hosts struck first, with Janos Hari scoring in the opening frame. VSV responded strongly in the second: Guus van Nes tied the game with a highlight-reel finish after banking the puck off the boards. John Hughes and Kevin Hancock added goals to complete the comeback. Van Nes scored again in the third period to make it 4–1. With this win, VSV leapfrogged EC Red Bull Salzburg back into the Top 6.
Pustertal reclaim the league lead
HC Falkensteiner Pustertal delivered a strong home performance against HC TIWAG Innsbruck, earning a 6–2 win to return to the top of the standings. The Wolves dominated from the start, building a 2–0 lead within the first eight minutes. Innsbruck pulled one back before the intermission, but could not keep pace with Pustertal’s tempo from the second period onward. The hosts extended their lead to 5–1 in the middle frame and cruised to a 6–2 final. Mikael Frycklund recorded a two-goal performance. With this result, Pustertal passed Olimpija Ljubljana—who fell in Linz—and now hold a two-point lead atop the table.
