In the top game of the Master Round, the HC Pustertal Wölfe celebrated a 4️:1️ away win at the Rittner Buam. The winner of Regular Season 1, HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana, celebrated their first win in the third game against. In addition, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey won with 5️:4️ after overtime against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. In the Qualification Round A, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan celebrated a 4️:3️ victory after overtime against the EHC Lustenau. Moreover, SHC Fassa Falcons won 5️:3️ at the Steel Wings Linz and took the lead in the Qualification Round B.
Pustertal consolidates top of the league
The HC Pustertal Wölfe won the top game of the Master Round against the Rittner Buam with 4:1. Through to the victory Pustertal consolidates the top of the league in the Master Round. From the start, both teams played at eye level. In the 15th minute, however, the guests could cheer for the first time. In the middle period, PUS scored two more goals. At the beginning of the third period, the hosts were able to score for the first time and gave the 679 spectators hope again to turn the game in their favor. However, Pustertal played a very good last period too and finally won the game. For Ritten it was the second defeat in a row. In the table they are in third place.
First victory for Ljubljana in Master Round
The winner of Regular Season 1, HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana, celebrated their first win in the third game of the Master Round. Against S.G. Cortina Hafro the Slovenes were the better team from the start and finally won with 5:2. After just 30 minutes, Ljubljana was 4:1 in the lead. As a result, HKO finished the game in a controlled manner, conceded another goal, but was also able to score again. In the table, Ljubljana improved to second place (7 points). Cortina is sixth with four points.
Asiago turns game against Jesenice
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey celebrated a 5:4 victory after overtime against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. The guests from Slovenia already led 3:1 and 4:2. Erik Svetina scored two goals. In the end it was Luigi Caporusso who, after two minutes in the overtime, made the decision in favor of the hosts with a powerplay goal. ASH is fourth in the table (5 points). JES is in fifth place with four points.
Fassa takes the lead in Qualification Round B
With more effort than expected, the SHC Fassa Falcons won with 5:3 at the Steel Wings Linz. Thanks to the third win in the fourth game in the Qualification Round, the Italians will initially take the lead in Qualification Round B, ahead of the VEU Feldkirch. However, the Vorarlbergers have only played three games. The bottom of the table from Linz started the game surprisingly offensive and was able to take the lead in the fourth minute. The lead held until the 16th minute before Fassa equalized. The second period of the game was won by FAS with 3:2. The decision fell after four minutes in the third period. The next opponent for the Falcons in the fight for the group victory is the EK Die Zeller Eisbären on Thursday.
Wipptal wins after overtime
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan celebrated a 4:3 overtime victory over the EHC Lustenau. James Milam scored the decisive goal after one minute and 26 seconds in the overtime. Slater Doggett scored twice for WSV in the first period, but Lustenau equalized in the first 20 minutes. In the second period, the guests from Vorarlberg went in the lead for the first time. This lasted until the 46th minute before the hosts made the 3:3. In the overtime they had the better outcome. In the table of the Qualification Round A, both teams hold at eight points. The EHC is in second place, the WSV in third place. The leaders of the standings are the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, who are three points ahead with one game less played.
