The HC Pustertal Wölfe has now won its second game of the season after six defeats in a row, as last year's quarter-finalist won 3-0 at home against the Moser Medical Graz99ers. Both teams brought in their back-up goalies: For the guests, Nicolas Wieser got his first start of the season, for the "Wolves" Jacob Smith started for the third time this season. Smith also remained the entire game without conceding a goal, made 30 saves and provided the necessary support, especially in the very offensive led by Graz in the first frame. In the second period, the South Tyroleans took command with two goals within 35 seconds: Emil Kristensen (27./PP1) scored with a one-timer, Anthony Bardaro doubled up. Despite three box-plays in the final period, the team from Bruneck did not let this advantage be taken away. Filip Ahl (60./EN) still sent the Empty-Netter. Thus, also the fifth ICE duel of these two teams was won by the home team, Graz remained scoreless in the second consecutive game in the Intercable Arena.

Innsbruck's powerplay unit brings turnaround

HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie clinched a 5:2 victory against Hydro Fehérvár AV19 thanks to its powerplay unit, although the guests from Hungary, after a commanding first period, were leading 2:0. But with the first powerplay, the offense of the "Sharks" got going: Daniel Leavens (24./PP1) provided the lead, Adam Helewka's equalizer came at four-on-four (31.) and Brady Shaw (37./PP1) scored on the second powerplay to take the lead. Innsbruck continued in the final period, scoring two more goals and securing its third win in a row. For the first time since February 21st, 2020, the Tyroleans won a home game against the Hungarians.
