Following their courageous showing against DEL side ERC Ingolstadt, HC Falkensteiner Pustertal bounced back at the 10th Vinschgau Cup with a commanding 3:1 victory over Extraliga representative Litvínov. Zandegiacomo opened the scoring with the only goal of the first period, finishing off a counterattack. Bowlby extended the lead to 2:0 early in the second period. After the Czechs pulled one back, Fontaine restored the two-goal cushion, sealing the final score.

In the last game of the Vinschgau Cup, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz faced ERC Ingolstadt. The Upper Austrians took the lead in the first period through Paul Eder, but the DEL team equalized in the second. Having already beaten Pustertal in a shootout in their opening game, Ingolstadt added three more goals in the third period to win 4:1.

Pioneers fall short against Kloten
In their second preseason game, Pioneers Vorarlberg delivered an impressive performance against Swiss National League side EHC Kloten, ultimately losing narrowly 4:5. The home side took the lead on several occasions. Murray first equalized, and goals from Allen and Stiegler even tied the game after a two-goal deficit. After Kloten regained the lead, Seppälä leveled at 4:4 with a power-play goal. Kloten then scored the decider, also on the power play, shortly before the final buzzer.
