Jason Akeson, top scorer of the DEL 2021/22, will play for HC Pustertal in the upcoming season. After five years in the PENNY DEL - Kölner Haie and Straubing Tigers - the NHL-experienced winger moves to the win2day ICE Hockey League.

The 32-year-old Jason Akeson has had an impressive career and convinced with his fast and technically skilled game. Via the OHL, Akeson quickly gained a foothold in the AHL. Although he was never drafted by an NHL organization, the right-shooter still made the leap to the best league in the world. In total, he played 22 NHL games and scored five points, while in the AHL he scored 333 points in 406 appearances.

In 2016/17, he made a detour to Vladivostok in the KHL. There, Akeson made 17 appearances, and after a stop in Mora (Sweden), the 178 cm tall forward remained active in Germany for five years. In two out of three seasons with the Kölner Haie, his teammate was Zach Sill - also a newcomer to HCP. In all five seasons in the DEL, Akeson was always his team's highest-scoring player (3x Cologne, 2x Straubing) and even the DEL's top scorer in 2021/22.
