For the US-American, the commitment to last year's quarterfinalist is the first at the professional level. Newhouse spent the last five years playing at U.S. colleges, most recently Northern Michigan University, for whom he totaled 27 points (5G|22A) in 37 games last season.

"With Ben Newhouse, we have been able to sign a young motivated college player who has played an important role on a very structured college team. Ben has impeccable character. He will actively contribute to the transition game as a mobile defender and will play an important role for us in the shorthanded game, which his remarkable shot block statistics prove impeccably," says coach Stefan Maier about his new addition.

"I have heard only good things about Bruneck and Pustertal and I am very impressed by the club. I have seen videos of some home games and the great atmosphere and I am really looking forward to play in front of the Wölfe fans. The Intercable Arena looks fantastic and I can't wait to put on the yellow and black jersey and hit the ice," said new number 56 Ben Newhouse.
