The HC Pustertal Wölfe won the top match of the Alps Hockey League against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey with 2:1. Thanks to the victory, the South Tyroleans replace Asiago from the top of the table. With a 15:1 home win of the Red Bull Hockey Juniors against the EC Bregenzerwald, the Young Bulls celebrated the highest win in the Alps Hockey League history. The Rittner Buam also celebrated a double-digit victory. They won 10:0 at the Steel Wings Linz. The HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana won at the EC ,Die Adler' Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and is the new league second. The EHC Lustenau celebrated an away win at S.G. Cortina Hafro.
Capitals Silver with 4th win in a row at home
The Vienna Capitals Silver won the first game of the day against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it with 6:4. The guests from Gherdeina were already in the lead with 3:0 after 28 minutes. In the sequel the guests conceded lots of penaltys. With three powerplay goals the Viennese came back in the game and finally celebrated their fourth win in a row at home. For the guests from South Tyrol it was the second defeat in a row abroad. The Swede Lukas Löfquist scored three goals and therefore was man of the match. In the league table the VIC are now in 16th place, GHE remains 7th.
Narrow home victory for Pustertal against Asiago
In a very balanced game, the HC Pustertal Wölfe defeated Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey with 2:1. All in all, the South Tyroleans made five shots more than the guests from Asiago. After 12 minutes, the hosts already led with 2:0. In the powerplay Asiago succeeded in the 24th minute of the game. In the remaining time there were chances on both sides but no more goals fell. With the victory PUS takes the championship lead with 36 points. Asiago slipped from the top of the table and is now in third place. It was the first defeat after eight wins in a row for the guests. The fans of Pustertal could cheer for the first time after two home defeats in a row.
Jesenice wins offensive spectacle against Wipptal
The HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan delivered an offensive spectacle. In the end, the Slovenes won with 8:5, which continues the downward trend of the Broncos. It was already the fourth defeat in a row for WSV. Jesenice won at home for the first time after two defeats. In the first period six goals were scored. JES led with 4:2. In the second period, the guests were able to equalise to 4:4, before the home side could score again and celebrated a clear victory in the end. In the table Jesenice is in tenth place and passed Wipptal. The Broncos slipped back to the eleventh place.
Salzburg Juniors celebrate highest victory in the AHL history
Thanks to a 15:1 home win over the EC Bregenzerwald, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated the highest win in the history of the Alps Hockey League. So far, the 12:2 away win of HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice at the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it from November 3rd 2018 was the highest victory in the AHL history. With 16 goals, also the top scoring game in the history of the AHL is equalized. Salzburg is now in 13th place with 19 points. Bregenzerwald has already conceded the tenth away defeat in a row in the AHL and occupies the 17th place in the table.
Ritten also wins double-digits
Not only the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, but also the Rittner Buam celebrated a double digit victory. The South Tyroleans defeated the Steel Wings Linz with 10:0. For the second time this season, the Buam have scored ten goals in one game. On Matchday three they defeated Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey with 10:5. The victory at Linz was the third in a row. With 33 points, RIT is fourth in the table. The Steel Wings lost for the tenth time in a row and are with two points at the bottom of the table.
Ljubljana and Fassa with away wins
The HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana won at the EC ,Die Adler' Stadtwerke Kitzbühel with 4:1 and climbed in the league table to second place. The Slovenians were the better team from the start. Already after 25 minutes, the AHL defending champion led with 4:0. In the sequel the hosts from Tyrol came a bit better into the game and could score two goals. In the end, however, the victory of HKO never was endangered. Kitzbühel is still on 15th place in the table.
The SHC Fassa Falcons was successful abroad as well. At the EC-KAC II, the Italians won with 3:1. Although the Klagenfurter scored the opening goal in the 13th minute, the guests could equalise in the same minute. In the sequel the game was balanced, but the goals were made by the Falcons in the 36th and 60th minute. Fassa won for the first time after two defeats in a row and is twelfth in the table. For the KA2 it was already the fifth defeat in a row. They are in 15th place.
Lustenau wins at Cortina
Thanks to a 6:5 away victory at S.G. Cortina Hafro Hockey the EHC Lustenau now has as many points as Cortina but is still in sixth place. In the first period both teams were able to shine with their offensive. It ended with 3:3. In the second period only the guests from Vorarlberg could score and pulled away to 6:3. Until the 53rd minute, the EHC kept the three-goal lead before SGC could shorten once again. Only in about two minutes later they even scored the 5:6.
