Alps Hockey League – Quarterfinals, Game 1
Tuesday, March 10, 2026
EK Die Zeller Eisbären – Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan
  • Zell am See chose Wipptal as its quarterfinal opponent—a matchup with plenty of history.
  • In the past two seasons, each team swept the other once with a 4:0 series win. This year, the Pinzgau side and Broncos have already met five times, with Zell coming out on top in four of those games.
  • Interestingly, over the last five seasons, the team that eliminated Sterzing in the playoffs went on to win the championship.
  • With 537 penalty minutes, the Broncos are the league’s most penalized team—a potential weakness against Zell’s 27.3% power play, one of the strongest in the league.
KHL Sisak – S.G. Cortina Hafro
  • Sisak is set to play its first-ever playoff series in the Alps Hockey League.
  • Their opponent, Cortina, was the 2023 runner-up.
  • The Croatians slipped from third to fourth place during the Master Round, while the Italians earned their quarterfinal berth through the Pre-Playoffs.
  • Cortina won two of their three meetings this season—all decided by just a single goal.
HC Migross Asiago – HC Meran/o Pircher
  • Asiago improved steadily as the season progressed, finishing third in the Master Round.
  • Meran heads into the quarterfinals in excellent form: after winning Qualification Round A, the South Tyroleans swept Bregenzerwald in the Pre-Playoffs.
  • In head-to-head action, Meran narrowly lost both home games but celebrated a convincing 5:2 away win in Asiago.
  • The Eagles were also the sixth-best road team in the regular season.
Wednesday, March 11, 2026
Red Bull Hockey Juniors – HC Gherdeina valgardena.it
  • After finishing first in the regular season, the Juniors placed second in the Master Round.
  • Gardena has been in strong form recently, winning Qualification Round B and then sweeping Kitzbühel in the Pre-Playoffs.
  • Salzburg took two of three meetings this season.
  • With 14 wins in 18 home games, the Juniors were also the best home team in the regular season.
