Rafael Rotter of Vienna Capitals is Erste Bank Eishockey Liga’s most valuable player of the 2017-18 campaign. After Benoit Gratton and Riley Holzapfel, who was judged most valuable to his team last year, Rotter is the third Caps player, who receives the award. The 30-year-old led the league’s scoring charts in regular season with 71 points (30 goals, 41 assists) and added eight more points (three goals, five assists) in playoffs. Rotter got 23 first place mentions and won by a large margin. With 88 points, he left Brian Lebler (63 points) of Linz and Bolzano’s netminder Pekka Tuokkola (31) behind.
