Red Bull Hockey Juniors have Master Round victory in their own hands

Rittner Buam remain in pole position before last round

The Rittner Buam SkyAlps defend their first place in the Master Round. After a 2-1 shootout win over regular-season dominator HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, the Buam remain in pole position. However, the Buam's last game will be a direct showdown against Red Bull Hockey Juniors, who trail the South Tyroleans by just one point and still have a second game on the schedule. Jesenice initially took a quick lead on Saturday evening. However, the Buam equalized in the first period before both goalies were convincing and did not allow any further goals. In the penalty shootout Janne Tavi provided the decision.

Juniors have Master Round victory in their own hands after landslide win

After losing the final of the Austrian championship, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors made an impressive comeback. Against the newly crowned Italian champion S.G. Cortina Hafro, the Salzburgers celebrated a 7:2 landslide victory. Although the Red Bulls are still one point behind the Rittner Buam, the Salzburgers have one more game on the schedule in addition to the direct duel. Cortina also still has every chance to win the Master Round in its remaining two games despite this defeat. In Friday's game, Salzburg quickly set the course for victory. Already after the first period, the hosts led 3:0. Cortina could not reduce the score decisively and had to accept a 2:7 defeat.

Linz celebrates second win in a row

After five losses in a row, the Steinbach Steel Wings Linz recorded their second win. Nevertheless, both the Linzers and HC Gherdeina are threatened with an early end to the season. Gherdeina is still among the top three teams in Qualification Round A, but the Falcons, who trail them by just one point, have two more games to play. The Upper Austrians made the most of their chances in overtime in the first period on Saturday night, putting the score at 3-0. Gherdeina cut it to 2-3 by the 44th minute, but Linz put on a worthwhile final period to win 6-2, with both Kilian Rappold and Ben Grasser netting a brace. The EK Zeller Eisbären are through the defeat of Val Gardena fixed for the pre-playoffs.

First win for Klagenfurt in Qualification Round

The EC-KAC Future Team recorded its first win in the Intermediate Round on Saturday, burying the last chances of HC Meran/o Pircher to still qualify for the Pre-Playoffs. After an early lead goal by Klagenfurt, however, Meran rallied with a brace to take the lead at first. In the second period, however, the Carinthians were unstoppable and set the course for victory with two more goals. The KAC-Future Team finally prevailed 5:2. Maximilian Theirich recorded a brace.

Kitzbühel inflicts first defeat on Bregenzerwald in intermediate round

EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel celebrated a 6:3 victory against EC Bregenzerwald and thus takes a big step towards winning Qualification Round B. Bregenzerwald had to suffer its first defeat but, due to the defeat of Merano, has nevertheless fixed itself for the Pre-Playoffs. Bregenzerwald, however, still opened the scoring on Saturday night. In the second period, Kitzbühel managed to equalize before the Vorarlbergers set off fireworks in the final period. Especially Jannik Fröwik put his stamp on the game.
