Corey Locke’s Power Play goal gave the Black Wings a 1:0-lead (13.). The game contined offensively, but the score stayed unchanged after period 1. After the re-start, the Upper Austrians were the chiefs on the ice and they created some good chances. The next goal was just a question of time. But it was scored by the Mozart Citizens: Ryan Duncan netted the 1:1 in a 4-on-4-situation. The guests got the momentum and they started to apply pressure on their opponent, but goalie Mike Ouzas didn't allow another goal. Thomas Raffl came closest to score, but he missed a rebound. As in period 1 and 2, the Upper Austrians started better into period 3: The Black Wings created some really good opportunities, but goalie Bernhard Starkbaum was not to beat. The Mozart Citizens were more effective: Patrick Spannrings „wrong pass“ caused the 2:1 by Mario Huber. The young forward skated alone infront of the net and he outplayed goalie Ouzas – 2:1. The Upper Austrians tried to respond quickly, but the Linzer took two penalties and this was punished by the guests: Dominique Heinrich added the 3:1 with a placed shot in the second Power Play. The Upper Austrians did not give up and they responded quickly: Just 27 seconds later, Sebastien Piche deflected a pass by Marc-Andre Dorion from the slot - 2:3. The Black Wings tried to equalize in a Power Play in the final minutes. Salzburg defended well and finally Alexander Rauchenwald decided the game with an empty net goal in minute 60.
