Red Bulls target top of the league against Innsbruck

In Tuesday’s only game EC Red Bull Salzburg hosts HC TWK Innsbruck. The champions could return to the top with a win in regulation but lost three of four season meetings with the Tirolese. In addition, EC VSV announced the signing of netminder René Swette.

The Red Bulls won their opener 5:2 in Bolzano with scoring three goals in the final period. On Tuesday they play the rescheduled game of the first game day against Innsbruck, a team they have made some bad experience earlier this season. The Tirolese won three oft he four season meetings but Ryan Duncan is still confident: „We have used the short break to prepare for the most important time of the season. We have to be ready for Innsbruck, they have worried us several times. We expect another big game“. The Red Bulls will be without Zdenek Kutlak, Manuel Latusa, Daniel Welser and Brett Olson but can return to the top of the league. Innsbruck messed up their start into Pick Round, trailing 0:2 after only two and a half minutes in their home game against Vienna. In the end they suffered a 2:4 defeat. It was their fourth successive defeat in a row but Hunter Bishop is looks forward to the game at Volksgarten: „We have to learn our lesson from last game and work hard again. Salzburg is one oft he big favourites for another championship title but we put up some resistance against them this season. I hope we can do again“. 
 
VSV signs netminder René Swette
After Olivier Roy's injury, EC VSV signed netminder René Swette. The 28-year-old played for Black Wings Linz and Dresden (DEL2) earlier this season and has won two EBEL titles win local rivals of Klagenfurt.
