Alps Hockey League, 28.01.2023 | Schedule:

Master Round:

18:00 HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice - Rittner Buam SkyAlps.
Referees: DURCHNER, GIACOMOZZI, Brondi, Jeram

HDD SIJ Acroini Jesenice started as big favorites in the Master Round of the Alps Hockey League. However, after two match days the Slovenians are still winless and promptly slipped back from first to fourth place. The new league leader since Thursday is named Rittner Buam SkyAlps. The Buam are the only unbeaten team in the Master Round. Just on Thursday, they ousted Cortina from the top spot with a convincing 4:1 victory. In the two previous duels between the two top teams, the Slovenians prevailed twice. With another success they would have the chance to take over the top of the table again already on Saturday.

18:30 Hockey Unterland Cavaliers - Red Bull Hockey Juniors
Referees: EGGER, VIRTA, Basso, Mantovani

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated their first success in their second game in the Master Round on Thursday. However, they almost met the same fate as in their opening game. In their win over the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers, they initially gave away a two-goal lead, but eventually prevailed. The Hockey Unterland Cavaliers are looking for revenge just two days after their loss. This will be the fourth game for the league newcomers in the Master Round. Currently they have a negative record with one win and two losses.

Qualification Round A:

19:30 EK Die Zeller Eisbären - HC Gherdeina valgardena.it
Referees: OREL, REZEK, Puff, Schweighofer

Saturday's Qualification Round A will see the top match between EK Die Zeller Eisbären and HC Gherdeina. Although the two opponents already had to admit defeat once in Qualification Round A, they lead the field. The Polar Bears currently have a lead of two points over Gherdeina, so if Val Gardena succeeds in a full Folg, the leading position would be taken over. In the two meetings so far this season, the Polar Bears celebrated two narrow victories.

20:30 SHC Fassa Falcons - Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan
Referees: LAZZERI, MOSCHEN, De Zordo, Rigoni

In the second game of the Qualification Round, the SHC Fassa Falcons and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan meet two teams that are just above or below the red line. The Falcons won their first two games in Qualification Round A, but had to go overtime against the Steinbach Steel Wings Linz. The Broncos followed up their narrow loss to Gherdeina with an overtime win against league leader Zell. In the two previous duels between these two teams, the away team prevailed in each case.

Qualification Round B:

19:00 EC-KAC Future Team - EHC Lustenau
Referees: BULOVEC, KAINBERGER, Arlic, Murnik

The EC-KAC Future Team was able to challenge its two opponents in Qualification Round B over the full distance. However, it was not enough for a victory. First, the Klagenfurter had to admit defeat in the shootout against Bregenzerwald, before an OT defeat against EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel followed. EHC Lustenau, on the other hand, is still unbeaten in the intermediate round and is already the first chaser of leader Kitzbühel. In the two previous season duels of these two teams, the Vorarlberg celebrated two clear shutouts.

19:30 EC Bregenzerwald - HC Meran/o Pircher
Referees: FAJDIGA, HOLZER, Javornik, Spiegel

HC Meran/o Pircher is still winless in the intermediate round. In the two games against Kitzbühel and Lustenau they conceded six goals each. EC Bregenzerwald last celebrated a victory after penalty shootout over KAC-Future Team. Julius Nyqvist was responsible for the decisive penalty. In the two previous season duels between these two teams, Meran celebrated one narrow and one clear success.
