Overall, Rick Schofield has been playing in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League since the season 2013/14. Before his time in Villach, the Canadian was played for two seasons at the HCB Südtirol Alperia. He even became champion with the South Tyroleans in the season 2013/14. In eight seasons in the ICE so far, the center made 448 appearances, scoring 366 points (175G / 191A).

"Rick is one of the best and most complete players in the entire league. He is an excellent skater who uses his secondary players perfectly and also creates many scoring chances. In addition, for all his offensive qualities, he also puts a lot of emphasis on defense. He is a top reinforcement for us. I am very happy that we managed to sign him," VSV Head Coach Rob Daum said.

Rick Schofield has signed a one-year contract with the Carinthians and is expected to arrive in Villach at the end of July.
