Pre-Playoff duels are fixed
While the Top-4 of the Master Round are already qualified for the playoffs, the remaining quarterfinalists will be determined in four pre-playoff duels. The following is an overview of all the pre-playoff duels. The game dates of the "best-of-3" series are Tuesday, March 8th, Thursday, March 10th and Saturday, March 12th.

Ritten and Lustenau reach quarterfinals
The Ritten Buam and the EHC Lustenau reached the remaining two early playoff tickets. The EHC won clearly with 5:2 at Asiago. The Italians finished the Master Round clearly on top with 26 points. One point was deducted from last year's finalist because they took the goalie off the ice in overtime in the game against Ritten and lost the game. The regulations of the Alps Hockey League state that in this case the team who is taking the goalie off ice is deducted one point in the standings.

Against Lustenau, Asiago quickly trailed with 0:3. Among others, Elias Wallenta scored twice in the first thirteen minutes of the game. Still in the first period Asiago reduced the score to 1:3. At the beginning of the final period they even came close to 2:3. But the Vorarlberg team was able to restore the two-goal lead ten minutes before the end of the game with a goal by Maximilian Wilfan. In the end, they prevailed with 5:2 and finished the Master Round in fourth place.

Immediately before, in third place, the Rittner Buam finalized the intermediate round. The South Tyroleans won against S.G. Cortina Hafro with a 3:2-OT. Cortina has to go into the pre-playoffs as fifth in the table. There they will meet the Steel Wings Linz. The Buam were already leading with 2:0 in the meantime. But the guests came back into the game and equalized six minutes before the end of the game. In the end, it was MacGregor Sharp who decided the game in favor of the South Tyroleans in overtime.

Zell am See clinch last pre-playoff spot
The EK Die Zeller Eisbären promptly made the pre-playoffs in their comeback season. The team from Salzburg prevailed at the Vienna Capitals Silver with 4:2 and even finished Qualification Round B in second place. Since the Steel Wings Linz lost clearly with 2:6 in Gherdeina, they still passed the Upper Austrians. The season is already completely over for the BEMER VEU Feldkirch, who lost to Meran/o with 3:4/OT and as fourth of Qualification Round B missed the Top-3 by three points.

Zell am See led with 2:0 in Vienna after just eight minutes, but the home side equalized at the start of the second period to give Feldkirch renewed hope of advancing in the parallel game. At that time, the Vorarlberg team was leading in Meran/o and would have qualified for the pre-playoffs. But only a few minutes after the equalizer the Polar Bears could take the lead again and they didn't give it away until the end. In the pre-playoffs, they are now challenged in the Salzburg derby against Red Bull Hockey Juniors.

Young Bulls without problems
In Qualification Round A, all positions were already taken before the last matchday. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors finished the group in first place. In the final game, they beat the last team in the table, Kitzbühel, 5:0. In the second game of the group, the EC-KAC Future Team won their last game of the season with a 5:4 win after overtime at the EC Bregenzerwald. The Carinthians finished in fourth place. The team from Vorarlberg, which was already trailing 0:4, will continue the season in the pre-playoffs against Gherdeina.
