Ritten manages to equalize series after in a hard-fought game
The Rittner Buam had to make changes in the line-up for semifinal two against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice after the narrow opening defeat on Saturday, as Julian Kostner, Fink, Spinell and Manuel Öhler were missing. Instead, MacGregor Sharp returned and gave the South Tyroleans in the lead in the third minute while shorthanded. The Slovenians were not impressed by the early deficit and fought back with two quick goals in the end of the first period: Erik Svetina (17.) with a deflection and Eric Pance (18. /PP1) from close range turned the game for the guests. But right after the restart Ritten equalized, 19-year-old Jakob Prast scored his first goal of the season. Then it became more physical on both ends, with a lot of time for the special teams. Almost at the end of the second period, Lase Uusivirta fired the blueliner and gave Ritten the lead again for the early game winner. Game three of the “best-of-five” series will be played on Thursday in Slovenia at 7.00 pm.

Decimated "Sticker" defeat Asiago
After EHC Lustenau declared itself "unfit to play" for the first semifinal game against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, the two teams now crossed their sticks for the first time in this series – starting at 0-1 from the Vorarlberg's point of view. The "Stickers" continued to be severely depleted in terms of personnel, offered only three lines in front of almost 1200 spectators and got off to an excellent start, as Maximilian Wilfan (4.) scored the goal for the early lead and also successfully answered the intermediate equalizer of the Italians (26.). Again, the guests were able to equalize and made it 2:2 after two periods still in the middle frame. In the final period, EHC Lustenau, which did not draw a penalty the entire game, built a two-goal lead until the 50th minute with goals from Patrick Ratz (45.) and Chris D'Alvise (50./PP1), which was enough for the 5-3 victory. The performance of EHC goalkeeper Erik Hanses, who recorded 46 saves in the game, was also outstanding. With the win, the “Stickers” equalized the “best-of-five” semifinal series against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey at 1-1. Game three will be played on Thursday at 8:30 pm in Asiago.
