Score in the "best-of-7" quarterfinal series RIT-KEC 3:2

On Thursday, the Rittner Buam turned the quarterfinal series back in their favor, the South Tyroleans defeated Kitzbühel 3:2 in overtime at home. After the second overtime win in a row, head coach Santeri Heiskanen's team is only one win away from reaching its fourth Alps Hockey League semifinal. The first AHL champions had a game 6 twice in their playoff history - with one win and one loss, the balance is even. The Tyroleans showed good performances despite the last two losses, but especially in the second home game (0:1 OT) they failed to score because of Ritten netminder Hayden Hawkey, who saved all 37 shots on his goal. Head coach Marco Pewal's team has never lost two home games in a row this season. The Eagles also won four of seven season meetings with Ritten.
