As the newly crowned winners of the Italian championship, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps resumed league action at EC Bregenzerwald, which missed Marlon Tschofen. After less than seven minutes, the guests from South Tyrol were trailing 0-1 – Julian Zwerger scored for the "Wälder" to take the lead. Markus Spinell then secured the equalizer for the "Buam" almost at the buzzer, scoring eleven seconds before the break.

Zwerger was on hand again right after the restart, the period was just 30 seconds old – and the ECB forward scored his third brace of the season. However, the visitors managed to equalize again through Adam Giacomuzzi, who had already scored twice in the last AHL game against the "Eisbären". It then took the final period to decide the game: The Rittner Buam SkyAlps showed their powerplay strength there, with Alan Lobis (49.) taking advantage of the second PP occasion to score the game winner.
