While Salzburg was without Dario Winkler and Lukas Schreier, Ritten missed Markus Spinell who will be out for the remainder of the season. The fans saw a tactical opening period with only a few chances on both sides. As a result it ended goalless. In the second the game remained at eye level with the goalies Daniel Fießinger and Patrick Killeen still keeping a clean sheet. Soon after the restart intp the third period, Alex Frei made the breakthrough, scoring off a pass from Johannes Fauster. Just two minutes later Tommaso Traversa doubled the lead with a shorthanded marker. It looked like the preliminary decision but with 176 seconds to go Daniel Wachter got the Juniors on the scoreboard. After the hosts pulled their goalie, Oscar Ahlström restored the two-goal lead with an empty netter. Twin brother Victor rounded off the scoring in the final seconds for a 4:1 road win.
