HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice – Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 3:4
Asiago had to win the fourth game to stay alive in the semifinal series and the guests got off a good start. Giulio Scandella opened the scoring after only three minutes on power play, finding the back of the net with a one timer. The hosts became dangerous for the first time with a man advantage, too. However, Jaka Ankerst failed to score because of netminder Frederic Cloutier. In the 8th minute Jesenice finally tied the game when Eric Pance stopped the puck with his skates and fired it top shelf. Soon later Cloutier made another save on Ankerst and Asiago retook the lead on the return. Jesenice goalie made a big mistake on a harmless shot of Jose Antonio Magnabosco after 13 minutes - 1:2. That was also the score after the first with Jesenice putting pressure on their opponents on an early power play. Out of nothing the visitors scored again. Krys Kolanos received a good pass but could not overcome Stojanovic but Andreas Lutz was ready for the rebound. Jesenice pressed hard but were not able to score on power play, though. The two-goal lead already was a big advantage but Žan Jezovšek reduced it at even strength after a quick attack.  But only one minute later, Krys Kolanos showed his accurancy with a well-placed shot into the far corner for a 4:2 Asiago lead after 40 minutes. The last period was the third of Jesenice’s attacks. The home team had to risk more while Asiago tried to hit them on the break. Davide Conci missed the preliminary decision on one of these situations. With ten minutes to go the hosts took advantage of a power play when Martin Oraze lit the lamp with a hard shot. Both sides had chances for another goal, Asiago only hit the post once and Jesenice came close twice. With 39 seconds to go Asiago received a penalty for delaying the game but Jesenice could not score on the 6 on 4 situation. The Italians ran down the clock successfully and forced a game 5. This one will take place in Asiago on Thursday.

Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro (7) – Rittner Buam (1) 2:4
After two consecutive defeats, Cortina tried to tie the series of semifinal on home ice against Rittner Buam. Francesco Adami was absent for roster of Cortina for suspension while Edoardo Caletti was out for injury. The Ritten team found Fabian Ebner who was out in Game 3. During the first period the guests played better than Buam as they touching a goal with Zachary Torquato and Riccardo Lacedelli but they didn’t have the precision to hit the big target. Th Omicioli’s team continued to play with concentration while the visitors weren’t always ready in the different parts of the rink. In the end of the first the Buam succeeded to score:  Markus Spinell placed the 1:0 behind Marco De Filippo just over two minutes before the first whistle. Second period started as the first. Minutes after minutes the visitors were able to gain meters of ice while Cortina continued to struggle to build a draw. Torquato with Ciccarello tried to score, but the two forwards were stopped from the saves of Patrik Killeen who was well placed in front of its slot. Also, Riley Brace and Nicola Fontanive mistook their chances but again at the first opportunity Ritten hit. This time the goal was of Viktor Ahlstrom who placed the puck where De Filippo couldn’t be present. The home team didn’t give up as they continued to play, and in a few seconds after 32 minutes they built a super-fast draw: Brace was the first with a shot from the blue line in 5 on 4, then Riccardo Lacedelli deflected the puck after a perfect assist of Nicola Fontanive, and the game was open again. The two teams ended the 2th period in tie (2:2). Third period kept the script of the previous two periods. Cortina decided to attack but the Ritten controlled his defense. Francesco De Biasio didn’t score, but then it came the decisive situation of the match. Thomas Spinell took the new advantage on a rebound given by De Filippo on a shot from distance. With the new goal, Renon played with safer without any risk. The final hit was of Alex Frei as he scored the 4th goal for the Buam. This was like a sentence of the game and of the series.
