Ritten decides top clash clearly for itself
The Ritten Buam celebrated an unexpectedly clear 7:3 home victory in the top clash against the EHC Lustenau. The South Tyrolean team passed the team from Vorarlberg in the standings and is now third in the table. Already after the first period it was clear that the Buam will leave the ice as winners. Because through goals from Fink, Kostner S., Kostner J., Lutz and Sharp they already led with 5:0 after 20 minutes. Also in the second period the home side scored first before Lustenau got on the scoreboard for the first time. In the end, EHC had lost for the first time after three wins in a row. For Ritten it was already the fourth home win in a row.
Asiago new league leader
With a 5:2 home win over the SHC Fassa Falcons, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey is top of the table at least for one night. With 36 points, the Italians are one point ahead of Jesenice, who are in action in Feldkirch on Friday. Asiago struggled for a long time against 15th-placed Fassa. The guests even took the 1:0 lead in the 17th minute of the game. In the second period, the 2018 AHL champions were able to quickly turn the game around and go into the final period with a 2:1 lead. In the final period, Fassa first equalized, before Asiago stepped up a gear and finally managed to win clearly with 5:2. It was already their fourth success in a row against the Falcons.
Narrow away win for Zell am See against Steel Wings
The EK Die Zeller Eisbären underlined their strong form at the Steel Wings Linz. The "Eagles" prevailed in a tight game with 2:1 and celebrated the fourth victory from the past five games. In the table, the Salzburg team is in sixth place. The Steel Wings are 14th in the table. All three goals in this game were scored in the first 24 minutes of play. Zell took the lead both 1:0 and 2:1 and did not give up this narrow advantage until the end.
Scoring festival of the Red Bull Hockey Juniors
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors dispatched S.G. Cortina Hafro with 10:3. The Young Bulls scored seven goals in the second period alone. Luca Auer and Tommy Purdeller each scored a hat trick. For Cortina it was already the fourth defeat in a row. In the table, the Italians are now only in thirteenth place. For the Salzburg team it was also a clear success in the second duel this season with SGC. On September 23rd, they kept the upper hand with 3:0. In the table RBJ, which celebrated only two wins from the past eight games, is in eighth place.
Meran/o wins in Kitzbühel
The HC Meran/o Pircher confirmed their strong form and celebrated their third win in a row at against the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. For the Tyrolean team, on the other hand, the slide continues. The eleventh in the table could not win any of its last four games. The HCM is just ahead of the KEC in tenth place in the table and won the game in Tyrol clearly with 7:3, mainly due to strong 40 minutes. The hosts were still leading with 3:2 after the first period, but after that only the visitors played and scored two goals in the second period and three goals in the final period to secure an unchallenged away victory.
