Road teams have tough games ahead

On Sunday, all four road teams have tough games ahead in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League: The spusu Vienna Capitals take on EC-KAC, losing the past six at Klagenfurt, while the EC GRAND Immo VSV has the exact same losing streak available in road games at Palaonda. Further, the Moser Medical Graz99ers (10 out of 46 @RBS) and the HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie (14 out of 50 @BWI) have tough road games to play too. All four meetings will be played for the first time 20-21.

  • For the first time this season the EC-KAC and the spusu Vienna Capitals will be facing each other.
  • Altogether there have been 133 games between these two teams since the new league was founded. With exactly 70 wins, the KAC has a slight advantage in the head-2-head.
  • The KAC has always grabbed points in the last nine games against VIC, only losing two of them.
  • In the last ten duels the road team has only won twice.
  • On home ice, the KAC has been undefeated against VIC for six games. The last Viennese victory in Klagenfurt was on March 15th, 2019 (1:4).
  • The KAC is convincing at home this season too: It has always scored points in the last five home games and won four of them. VIC only grabbed two points from his last three away games.
  • This season the KAC averaged only 1.93 goals against (#1), VIC 2.17 (#3). Both teams are also among the top 3 in the PK ranking.
  • Fredrik Eriksson is expected to be back in KAC's line-up for the game against VIC.

  • This pairing will also be staged for the first time this season.
  • G99 comes to Salzburg after a 3:6 defeat against KAC, where they had a two-goal lead out of hand. Despite the defeat the Styrians kept the lead in standings. RBS is on rank seven, but played four games less than G99.
  • G99 is still missing exactly eight goals on the 3000th league goal since the league was found 2000.
  • These two teams have played 91 games so far - RBS has won more than a third of them (63).
  • In 46 duels in Salzburg, G99 celebrated only ten victories.
  • Mario Huber, Filip Varejcka and Alexander Rauchenwald are still missing RBS.
  • At G99 Adis Alagic is absent due to injury.

  • The HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie start after a four-day break a road trip to the east, stops on Sunday at the Steinbach Black Wings Linz. It is the first duel of the season between these two teams.
  • The HCI won its last game at the DEC with 6:2. It was the first victory of the "Sharks" after regulation the forced break. The Tyroleans are ranked eighth.
  • BWI left Bolzano on Thursday without scoring a goal and with a 0:3 defeat. With eleven points from 15 games the Upper Austrians are bottom-placed.
  • BWI is still lacking the scoring power this season: 2.2 goals are scored on average per game, a total of 33. 17 of them by the duo Brian Lebler (9) and Dragan Umicevic (7) - the balance of the attacking lines does not yet seem to be in place.
  • The HCI also has a strong offensive unit with Daniel Ciampini (8) and Braden Christoffer (7).
  • Exactly 100 league games were played between these two teams, BWI took 64 wins - won the last six games as well.
  • In the last 20 duels of these teams there were only six road wins. HCI could only win two of the last 20 matches in Linz.

  • Both teams will meet for the first time this season.
  • After their overtime defeat on Friday against the DEC, the Carinthians stayed at Dornbirn on Saturday and travelled directly to Bolzano.
  • The HCB, which has won all four games after regulation since the forced break, will play a home game against AVS Saturday night.
  • VSV has always gained points in the past six games: one win after regulation, two SO-wins, three defeats after SO or OT.
  • There have been 36 games between Bolzano and Villach so far, the "Foxes" won exactly two thirds of them (24).
  • VSV has lost the last six games in the Palaonda, its last victory is dated October 15th, 2017 (4:3).
  • VSV's last newcomer Frederik Allard scored his first goal at the OT loss in Dornbirn.
  • The convalescent Raphael Wolf is missing from VSV in Bozen.
  • The game will be broadcast live on Video 33 TV too.
