Robert Sabolic strengthens the VSV

The Slovenian Robert Sabolic will play for the EC VSV in the upcoming season. The now 33-year-old already played two seasons for Jesenice in the ICE (2010-2012) in his early years as a professional. The right wing spent the main part of his career in the KHL (181 games) and DEL (137 games). In 2014, the Slovenian international won the German championship with the ERC Ingolstadt. In the past season, Sabolic was under contract with the Krefeld Penguins. The left-shooter has also been active in the SHL.

In addition to numerous appearances at World Championships and participation in two Olympic Games for his home country Slovenia, winning the DEL title with ERC Ingolstadt in the 2013/14 season is probably one of the greatest successes for the left-shooter. He also played 22 games in the European Champions Hockey League for Sparta Prague and Ambri`-Piotta, proving his scoring qualities with a total of nine points.

Robert Sabolic is already looking forward tothe EC VSV and has big goals with the Eagles: "VSV is a top address, already this year the team has reached the semifinals. I want to do my part to set the next step. Our goal must be the final and also the championship. I have already had a detailed conversation with coach Rob Daum and also with assistant coach Marcel Rodman, whom I know very well and with whom I also used to play together in Jesenice - I am very much looking forward to Villach, the team and the fans!"
