Until the age of 16, Emilio Romig played in Vienna and moved to the Czech Republic to Zlin in 2008, followed by the jump overseas to the Indiana Ice in 2011. There the 175 cm tall forward played in the United States Hockey League, the most important American junior league. From 2013, the Austrian studied at the University of Denver and won the NCAA title with the college team in the state of Colorado. Emilio then spent his first professional year with the Colorado Eagles in the EHCL. In the spring of 2018, the Austrian returned home. With the Vienna Capitals, the Viennese was able to pick up 37 points and in 2019 moved intra-league to the Dornbirn Bulldogs. With the team of Vorarlberg, Romig provided 57 points in two seasons before going on the score hunt for the Black Wings in 1992.

Dan Ceman, head coach of the Black Wings 1992: "Emilio has very good skating skills and can help us with his speed in every game. We expect him to play very good forechecking and not give defenders much time in the buildup. With his work ethic on the ice and off it, he fits very well into our team."

Three cracks strengthen Znojmo
HC Orli Znojmo announces its first three reinforcements for the upcoming season. The South Moravian team, which returns to the international league after a one-year break, welcomes three Czech additions to its squad: forwards Sebastian Gorčík, Radek Prokes and defender Jan Bartek.

Sebastian Gorčík became a key player for Vsetín in the Czech first league. In the first season he scored twenty-four points in forty-four games, and in the following and last season he scored twenty-seven points in 31 games for the Wallachian team. In the playoffs, the 25-year-old Czech added six points in fourteen games, making him the team's second most productive player. Gorčík has also played for all youth national teams. He faced David Pastrňák, Jakub Vrána and Vítek Vaněček at the 2015 World Junior Championship.

Jan Bartko, who is one year younger, started his career in Nový Jičín. He then moved to Třinec, for whom he scored a respectable 32 points in thirty-three games during the 2018/19 season. The following season he tried his first foreign stint and played twenty-two games for HCB Ticino Rickets, a Swiss hockey club and farm teams of HC Lugana and HC Ambri-Piotta, but eventually ended the season back in Frýdek-Místek. His next and last stop for now was Vsetín, for whom he played one season and was the most productive defensive player with 28 points in 34 games and five points in 14 playoff games.

In addition to the duo from Vsetín, the Eagles also sign twenty-six-year-old Radek Prokes, who hails from České Budějovice. He also worked in the first division in Venice, Prostějov and most recently in Havířov, where he scored 23 points in 16 games last season. Prokes also made the jump to the Extraliga and played 25 games for Motor, in which he scored three goals and four assists. Now he will try his hand in international competition in the Znojmo jersey.

Pavel Ohera, president of HC Orli Znojmo: "All three players were among the top performers for their teams last season. They are excellent skaters, are mobile and we believe they will be productive in international competition in Znojmo. Although they have no experience in this league, they are at an ideal age and we believe they will handle the transition to the new competition well. We want them to play together and get a lot of ice time."

Innsbruck extends with Tom McCollum
HC TIWAG Innsbruck will continue to rely on the services of goalie Tom McCollum next season. The Tyrolean and the US-American agreed to extend the contract.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck has filled another important position in the squad for the 21/22 season. Goaltender Tom McCollum will stay in Innsbruck, extend his contract with the Sharks.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck chairman Günther Hanschitz: "Tom has shown his class especially towards the end of the season. We are pleased that he will continue to stay in Innsbruck."

Thus, the goalkeeper duo of the Sharks for the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League 21/22 is set. In addition to Tom McCollum, as already known, Rene Swette will also remain part of the Haie organization.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck head coach Mitch O'Keefe: "I'm hugely happy that Tom will remain a Shark. After the difficult season for him in the beginning, he is eager to show how good he really is. And I'm sure he will. Tom knows the league now, and is ready to help lead the team next year. He's a great character, on the ice and in the locker room."
