Round of 16 set for ICE teams

The draw for the round of 16 in the Champions Hockey League was made on Friday, with the three teams from the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League drawn against opponents from Sweden, Finland and France. The first legs are scheduled for November 16/17 and the second for November 23/24.

ICE champion EC-KAC will face Swedish CHL debutant Leksands IF in its first-ever appearance in the knockout stage. Last year's quarterfinalist and current SHL third-ranked team qualified for the round-of-16 as runners-up in Group F (4/2).

ICE runner-up HCB Südtirol Alperia will duel in the round of 16 with Finnish champion Lukko Rauma, which took points in every game in the group stage. The "foxes" have reached knockout stage of the European top division for the second time. In 2018/19, they lost to HC Pilsen (1:6 and 2:6).

Six-time CHL participant EC Red Bull Salzburg has been drawn with Rouen Dragons. The "Red Bulls" already dueled with the French in the round of 16 of the 2018/19 season, in which they advanced to the semifinals later. The 3:3 in Rouen was followed by a clear 5:1 at home against the French champion.
