In the win2day Austrian Women’s Hockey League, Friday night featured an absolute showdown: defending champions and league leaders Sabres St. Pölten defeated the KSV Highlanders 3–1, extending their lead in the standings to three points over the Styrian side.

Jaime Magoffin was the player of the match, scoring two goals. The center opened the scoring in the 7th minute on a power play to make it 1–0, and added the 2–1 lead in the 26th minute, after Sara Confidenti had equalized in the 19th minute on a penalty shot. Ashley Taciuk secured the 3–1 final score already in the 30th minute. Sabres goaltender Selma Luggin was outstanding with 30 saves, including 15 in the first period alone. The Sabres had also claimed victory in the first meeting of the season (4–1).
