Defending champion EC Red Bull Salzburg had no problems in game five of the semifinal series against EC-KAC and are through to the finals of the win2day ICE Hockey League for the second time in a row and twelfth time overall. The Red Bulls celebrated a clear 4:0 home win on Sunday. Already in the fourth minute of the game Dennis Robertson put the home side in the lead, in the twelfth minute of the game Troy Bourke increased to 2:0. The EC-KAC never found their way into the game and recorded only 25 shots on goal in the end. For RBS goalie Atte Tolvanen it was the first shutout of these playoffs and the fourth of the season overall.

Between minute twelve and 32 no further goals were added to the scoreboard before Thomas Raffl made it 3:0 in the powerplay. In the final period, the KAC tried everything again, took goaltender Sebastian Dahm off the ice already ten minutes before the end of the game, but still could not shorten the score. Instead, Lucas Thaler made everything clear 71 seconds before the end of the game with the 4:0 empty-net goal.

Bolzano completes final

In addition to Salzburg, the HCB Südtirol Alperia also made the final clear on Sunday. The foxes won in game five against the spusu Vienna Capitals with 3:2. The guests from Vienna had a dream start. Bernhard Posch scored after just 112 seconds to make it 1:0, but Bolzano remained unimpressed and equalized before the end of the first period. Mike Halmo scored in the 15th minute after an assist from Ryan Culkin to make it 1:1. In the 22nd minute it was Halmo who assisted Christian Thomas perfectly. The Capitals, however, were equal with the Regular Season winner and equalized in the 39th minute through Matt Bradley to 2:2. In the final period the game went back and forth, both teams had several scoring chances, but in the end it was Daniel Frank who redeemed the 6249 fans in the Sparkasse Arena Bolzano with the 3:2 game-winner four minutes before the end of the game. The Capitals did not have an answer after that and so Bolzano fixed the first final since 2021 and the fourth final in the win2day ICE Hockey League. They also won the title twice.

The "best-of-7" final series starts on Thursday, April 6th in Bolzano. PULS 24 will broadcast live from 19:05.
