Salzburg and Graz remain hot

EC Red Bull Salzburg and Moser Medical Graz99ers remain hot in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League with their seventh consecutive win each. The Dornbirn Bulldogs celebrated their first home win after 81 days and, like HCB Südtirol Alperia, remained without conceding a goal in the 32nd round. Further, Matt Bradley’s hat trick lifted spusu Vienna Capitals to third place, while EC GRAND Immo VSV kicked off their return to winning ways with a shorthanded goal.

EC Red Bull Salzburg secured its seventh win in a row with a 4-3 home victory over Steinbach Black Wings Linz. Once again, Peter Schneider shone for the league, scoring a brace, his third multiple-goal game in his now four-game goal-scoring streak. The Red Bulls' other goals for their 14th straight point-scoring game came from Alexander Pallestrang (7./PP1) and Ty Loney (45.). It was the 24th defeat of the season for the Black Wings, which had the full roster available for the first time in 21-22.

The Moser Medical Graz99ers, which came back from a two-goal deficit to win 4-3 in overtime against the EC-KAC, have also won seven games in a row. Dominik Grafenthin (30.) and Ken Ograjensek (40.) closed the gap in the middle frame, while Andrew Gordon (54.) scored the first lead for the Styrian side. Joey Martin (64.) finally finished off the success in overtime. Graz drew level with Klagenfurt in the standings and with seven wins in a row has established its second-longest winning streak in club history. The interim 2-0 for Klagenfurt was Fabian Hochegger’s first goal in his pro career.

Beck’s shutout in Dornbirn’s first home win after 81 days
The Dornbirn Bulldogs have put an end to their losing streak on home ice. After 81 days and a total of twelve home defeats in a row, the Vorarlberg team celebrated a clear 5-0 win against HC Pustertal Wölfe. The 20-year-old Felix Beck celebrated his first ICE shutout with 27 saves in his sixth game this season. Five different players scored for the Bulldogs. Shawn O'Donnell scored his first goal in his second game. The league newcomer from South Tyrol went goalless for the fifth time this season.


HCB Südtirol Alperia celebrated a shutout victory too, as the two-time champions beat HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie 3-0 on home ice. Kevin Boyle saved all 24 shots on his goal. Two goals within 83 seconds in the first period by Mike Halmo (7.) and Domenico Alberga (9.) put the Foxes on a comfortable lead early. For Halmo, who scored an empty-netter at the end, it was his third brace in the last seven games.

Matt Bradley’s hat trick lifts Vienna to second place
With a hat trick Matt Bradley has catapulted the spusu Vienna Capitals to second place in the table. His three goals – two of them on powerplay – were decisive for the 4:2 home win in the Ost-Derby against HC TESLA Orli Znojmo. It were the first goals in the fourth game for the 24-year-old Canadian. Vienna won its 15th game of the season after regulation and showed strength in the duel of the best power play units: two of six powerplay occasions were successful, all four box plays were survived flawlessly.


Villach bounces back after derby loss
EC GRAND Immo VSV showed a reaction to the 1-9 in the derby and celebrated its first win in the current championship against HK SZ Olimpija with the 4-2 home win, as the "Adler" turned around their 0:1 deficit in the middle third thanks to Felix Maxa (21./SH1) and Anton Karlsson (38.), which was then fixed by the Austrians Benjamin Lanzinger (56./PP1) and Philipp Lindner (60./EN). For Villach it was the first win after three defeats in a row. Ljubljana slipped out of the top two after their sixth defeat of the last seven games.
