For the 17th time in a row, EC Red Bull Salzburg has qualified for the playoffs in the win2day ICE Hockey League, as the league runner-up and reigning champion prevailed 3-1 at the spusu Vienna Capitals and clinched its ticket for the postseason with its sixth win in a row. James Sheppard (33./PP1) equalized the lead of Peter Schneider (31.) on powerplay and on Ali Wukovits' renewed lead (56.) Vienna had no answer and had to accept an Empty-Netter of Mario Huber (59./EN) for the final score. The "Capitals" lost for the second time in a row and failed to extend their lead on seventh place to four points.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie also qualified early for the quarterfinals in the win2day ICE Hockey League, as the Tyroleans won at HK SZ Olimpija with 5-2 and secured the playoff ticket for the first time since the 2017-18 season. Since the league was founded, the "Sharks" are now in the postseason for the tenth time. The guests took the lead in the first period through Corey Mackin (13.) and created the preliminary decision at the beginning of the second period, as Nico Feldner (21.) and Daniel Leavens (22.) scored within eleven seconds. The other goals for the Innsbruck side, which took points for the 30th time this season, were scored by Jan Lattner (39./PP1) and Tyler Coulter (46.). The Slovenians, for whom Christopher Dodero collected a brace, suffered their eighth defeat in a row and are currently twelve points behind tenth place.

Villach wins derby in Klagenfurt after almost seven years
EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV put an end to its almost seven-year losing streak in derby road games, as the 3-2 win was Villach's first victory at EC-KAC after 16 consecutive defeats or since February 2nd, 2016, with the "Adler" benefiting from a perfect start: Anthony Luciani (3.) and Robert Sabolic (6.) provided the early 2-0 lead. The guests then increased through Arturs Kulda (33.) before Klagenfurt came closer again: Rok Ticar (39./PP1) shortened with a one-timer in powerplay, Fabian Hochegger scored 2,5 minutes before the end to connect. But the "Adler" secured the win in the end.

Leader turns it in shootout
HCB Südtirol Alperia extended its winning streak at Moser Medical Graz99ers, as the leader won in Graz with 2-1 after shootout, celebrating its seventh victory in a row. The again decimated "99ers" stood up to the "Foxes" for a long time and took the lead through Daniel Oberkofler (46.). But Christian Thomas (47.) promptly had the answer - and late in the penalty shootout Daniel Mantenuto made the turnaround perfect. The Styrians thus picked up at least one point for the 20th time this season and, in ninth place - with the same number of games played - are two points clear of eleventh-placed HC Pustertal Wölfe, who recorded an unchallenged 4-1 road win at Steinbach Black Wings Linz. The South Tyroleans took a lucky lead through Rafael Andergassen (2.) and extended it with a Hannoun brace (28. and 34.). Goalie Tomas Sholl defended the advantage skillfully with a total of 40 saves and so the team from Bruneck managed the first victory after previously three defeats in a row. The Wolves are currently one point behind tenth-placed Asiago, but the league newcomers still have two more games to play.
