Salzburg and Ljubljana capture lead

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors and HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana celebrated wins and captured the match-puck for game six on Thursday. The Juniors had a strong final period and grinded out a 3:2 win against the EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau. Also Ljubljana had an offensive firework in the final period, scoring three goals within 73 seconds beim 4:1 Erfolg über die Rittner Buam.

Red Bull Hockey Juniors vs. EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau 3:2 (1:0, 0:1, 2:1)
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors and the EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau fought in game number five for the first match puck. Marc-Olivier Vallerand missed the important game, he had to end his season with an inury. Both teams started with good pressure into the game creating some chances. For the first 15 minutes the both goalies kept the zero. Samuel Witting opened the scoring in this night. Jesper Kokkila and Christof Wappis created the chance and Witting converted. The Juniors seemed to have control over the game. But Lustenau came back strong netting the equalizer by Jürgen Terschnutter. The final period started at 1:1. The Juniors started with pressure in the final period. Jesper Kokkila recaptured the lead in the 42nd lead and Filip Varejcka built the two goals lead in the 54th minute. But Lustenau didn’t give up and came back one more time with a goal of Martin Grabher Meier. The Juniors did a good job in defending the close lead over the last minutes and captured the 3:2 series lead.

HK SZ Olimpija vs. Rittner Buam 4:1 (0:0, 1:0, 3:1)
HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana started with high pressure into quarterfinals game five against the Rittner Buam. Ljubljana fired 16 shots onto the goal of Thomas Tragus, who kept his clean sheet in the first period. The defensive department of Ljubljana closed the gates and didn’t allow the Rittner offense to create dangerous chances. Ljubljana kept the pressure high and got rewarded by a goal of Luka Vidmar after assist of Ales Kranjc. But the Buam came better into the game and created some chances – without success. Ljubljana headed with the 1:0 lead into the final period. Ljubljana started with fireworks in the offense. Within 73 seconds the Slovenians decided the game with three straight goals. Saso Rajsar opened the goal festival in the final period in powerplay. Only 14 seconds later Nik Simsic increased the lead and another 49 seconds later Zan Jezovsek scored for the early decision. In the 55th minute Zan Us was beaten for the first time this game. Andreas Lutz turned away the shut out, scoring the result of 1:4 in the 56th minute.
