Fehérvár came out hard with a lot of pressure in the fourth final game and found themselves in front of Salzburg goalkeeper Atte Tolvanen after just a few seconds. The Finn saved the first shots on his goal, but in the eighth minute the home side's pressing phase was rewarded: Bálint Magosi scored with an onetimer into the cross corner - it was the third time in a row that the Hungarians scored the first goal. Fehérvár continued to play with pressure, but Magosi only hit the post and other chances also remained unused. When the home side failed to get the puck out of their own zone after 15 minutes, the Red Bulls struck out of nowhere. Thomas Raffl was right on target and made it 1:1.

In the middle period, the visitors took command. They were unable to capitalise on the first power play of the game, but in the 33rd minute, the regular season winners turned the game in their favour: captain Thomas Raffl scored a spectacular goal "between the legs". A little later, the Hungarians failed to take advantage of a short 5-on-3 power play, and the score remained 1:2 after 40 minutes.

In the final period, the Red Bulls allowed only little. Goalie Tolvanen was on the spot in a 2 on 0 situation. And 72 seconds before the end, T.J. Brennan ensured the final decision with an empty netter. With their seventh title, Salzburg are once again the lone record holders since the league was newly-founded.

Atte Tolvanen is playoff MVP
With a save percentage above .950 in the playoffs 2022, Atte Tolvanen played a big part in EC Red Bull Salzburg's title win. Journalists voted the 27-year-old Finn "Most Valuable Player" of the postseason.
