Strong defensive performance leads Salzburg to 3-0 home win
EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated a hard-fought 3-0 home victory over Bílí Tygři Liberec. Mario Huber gave the hosts the lead with a shorthanded goal in the seventh minute. The Czech visitors increased the pressure considerably as the game progressed, but Salzburg defended with great discipline and could rely on an impressive Atte Tolvanen in goal. It was not until the closing stages that Adam Brooks provided some breathing room with a goal in the 57th minute, before Peter Schneider sealed the 3-0 final score with an empty-netter shortly afterwards. It was the Red Bulls’ first victory of the current CHL season.

KAC surrender lead against Fribourg in final period
EC-KAC suffered a 3-1 defeat against Fribourg-Gottéron. Following a scoreless opening period, Raphael Herburger put Klagenfurt 1-0 ahead in the second. The game was decided early in the final period, when the Swiss side made full use of a power play and turned the contest around with three goals. Jonas Taibel scored twice, while Jacob de la Rose netted the go-ahead goal to make it 2-1. KAC were unable to find a way back into the game and eventually had to settle for a 3-1 defeat against the Swiss side.

Graz99ers fall 4-2 to French champions
Moser Medical Graz99ers suffered a 4-2 defeat against Boxers de Bordeaux in their second CHL home game. Jakob Lippitsch initially gave the Styrians the lead before Bordeaux turned the game around within just 23 seconds through Ulysse Tournier and Julien Guillaume. Before the second intermission, returning Clay Hanus tied the game at 2-2 with his first goal in a Graz jersey. In the final period, the 99ers were unlucky when Nico Feldner hit the crossbar. Almost immediately afterwards, Kevin Dusseau scored to put Bordeaux 3-2 ahead. Graz threw everything forward in the closing stages, but Yvan Mongo eventually sealed the 4-2 victory with an empty-net goal.
