S.G. Cortina Hafro - Red Bull Hockey Juniors 4:5 OT (0:1; 0:2; 4:1; 0:1)
A lot of emotions in a game that has given important points for the playoff race. The Cortina arrived to this match with the new forward Kris Kolanos. With respect to the last game there weren’t Edoardo Caletti who went to Renon and Derek Roehl who was no longer part of the Veneto team. The start of the game was in favour of the hosts but then minute after minute, the Austrian team grew with a very dynamic game, fast as they put a lot of pressure on the opponent players. After almost seven minutes of game it was the goal of Nico Strodel who took advantage of a mistake in defence of Cortina. The play of the Salzburg remained very constant and dangerous. In the second half the game's history didn’t change. Red Bull Juniors played in speed and Cortina who had difficulty setting the maneuver. The Cortina was found with too many men on the ice: in powerplay Lukas Kainz scored after a pass from behind the net of Maximilian Egger. The game was always on the side of the guests that achieved 3:0 during a counterattack in 3 against 1 with Tobias Eder. In the third time the Cortina changed during a penalty killing. Neil Manning started an action with a touch in the boarding: the puck arrived to Zach Torquato who scored the first goal of the home team. But less than two minutes later the Red Bulls seemed to close the game accounts with the 4:1 of Maximilian Egger. But the Cortina waked up in the final and also his new player. First a nice shot by Francesco De Biasio halved the disadvantage. Then the Austrian team got into trouble. The home formation tied the score with two powerplay goals finalized by Kris Kolanos (52. And 56.) for an unbelievable final of period. Everything happend during the overtime. The two goalkeepers, De Filippo and Fiessinger, made a lot of important saved. Then Kolanos took 2’ of penalty. Christof Wappis fixed the final results with the goal of 5:4 for the guests in powerplay and when were missing 11 seconds to the end ot overtime. The goal was contested by the host. The Cortina remained in ninth position with a vantage point on the Salzburg that has however four games to recover compared to the opponents.
