Salzburg turns it with three minutes left
The EC Red Bull Salzburg turned around its preseason game against the Bietigheim Steelers in the closing stages, as the win2day ICE Hockey League champions prevailed against the Germans 4-3 and celebrated their third win in the running preparation. Salzburg, which started without convalescents Paul Huber, Troy Bourke and Philipp Wimmer as well as Benjamin Nissner, who is on break, was trailing by two after 20 minutes. In the second period, a double PP paved the way for the "Red Bulls" to equalize before falling behind again in the middle period. In the final 20 minutes it took a long time before Salzburg turned the game around: Ty Loney (57.) with a defleciton and Thomas Raffl (58.), who finally scored a brace, were responsible for the turnaround.

Graz ends Czech trip with victory
The Moser Medical Graz99ers wrapped up their preseason trip to the Czech Republic with a win, after the Styrians, which were without Alagic, Zalewski and Altmann, won 2-1 at HC Dukla Jihlava. In the middle period Fladeby gave the Graz team the lead on powerplay, Sam Antonitsch scored the game-winner with a few minutes left in the second.

Pustertal opens Vinschgau Cup 2022 with a win
HC Pustertal started successfully into the Vinschgau Cup 2022, as the ICE quarterfinalist of the past season won against ERC Ingolstadt with 4-3 after overtime. Missing Ahl, Willcox and Kristensen, the "Wolves" had a strong middle frame, in which they scored all three goals. Andergassen, Archambault and Luchik were responsible for the goals. The game went into overtime, where both teams had one top chance each before Luchuk and Andergassen started a 2-on-1 break away for the OT win.

Defeats for Vienna and Linz
The Vienna Capitals suffered their third defeat in the current preseason, as the Viennese lost in Bled, Slovenia to the Stavanger Oilers with 3-4 after penalty shootout. For last year's ICE semifinalists, Stefan Steen played the complete 60 minutes of the game this time, while the two youngest new arrivals Max Zimmer and Chad Krys were not available yet. Vienna showed a strong performance – especially PP, all three goals were scored in numerical superiority. The decision in the shootout was made late in favor of the Norwegian CHL participant.
