Salzburg qualifies for playoffs
EC Red Bull Salzburg became the fifth team to qualify for the playoffs in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, completing the pick round. The six-time champions prevailed 4:2 at the spusu Vienna Capitals, celebrating their first win of the season over the fourth-placed Viennese team. The "Red Bulls" took a 2:-0 lead through Austin Ortega (19.) and Filip Varejcka (26.). Varejcka scored on his comeback after more than three months of injury. The Viennese did not give up, however, and tied it thanks to Jerome Leduc (39.) and Marco Richter (42.), before Ortega (57.) put the Salzburg victory back in sight with his second goal and David McIntyre sealed it with an empty-netter.

Klagenfurt supports Salzburg
The support for Salzburg's playoff entry has come from EC-KAC. The second-placed "Rotjacken" narrowly defeated Dornbirn Bulldogs 4:3 and claimed their 25th win in the 40th duel with the Vorarlberger side. Klagenfurt, at two points behind leader Bolzano, still has the chance to win the first phase of the regular season. Dornbirn lost for the fourth time in a row and has no more chance to reach the pick round. Paul Postma gave the home team the lead after just 75 seconds, Thomas Koch (11.) doubled up. Dornbirn then became more dangerous, shortened by Jesper Kokkila (19.) - and remained in striking distance in the further course. But the "Rotjacken" were always ahead and won 4:3 in the end.

Fehérvár cruises passt Villach
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 dispatched EC GRAND Immo VSV 5:2 and thus preserved its chance to start the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League pick round as the top seeded team. In this duel, the home team won for the first time, the Hungarians won for the third time this season against Villach. The "Adler" were already down 0:4 after the first two periods, because Fehérvár and Csanad Erdely, who scored a brace, was clearly more efficient in finishing. The guests got better in the final period. The goals of Renars Kastenbergs (48.), his debut goal, and Matt Mangene (54.) could not prevent the clear victory of the Hungarians. Daniel Kornakker of Fehérvár shone with 53 saves (96.4%).

Graz upsets leader
The Moser Medical Graz99ers scored a surprising 3:2 home win against bet-at-home ICE table leader HCB Südtirol Alperia. For the Styrians, it was the second win of the season against the "Foxes" - and an important one in the fight for as many bonus points as possible for the Qualification Round. With three rounds to go, Graz remains in seventh place, three points ahead of eighth-placed Bratislava. Bolzano kept the top position despite the second defeat in a row. Graz took the lead in the 16th minute on a deflection by 99ers top scorer Anthony Cameranesi, who then doubled up early in the final period (42./PP1). Joel Broda increased the lead to 3:0 in the 49th minute before the visitors started their final offensive: Stefano Giliati (51.) with only his third goal of the season and Karl Stollery (58.) with his debut goal shortened the score. The "Foxes" were unable to turn it around - also because Graz goalkeeper Felix Nußbacher shone with a save percentage of 95%.
