Salzburg defeats Pustertal in the last ten minutes

EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated a 7:3 home win over HC Pustertal on Wednesday. Although the South Tyroleans came back after a two-goal deficit in the middle period, the reigning champions of the win2day ICE Hockey League made things clear in the final ten minutes to secure their third win in a row.

In Wednesday's lone match of the win2day ICE Hockey League, EC Red Bull Salzburg took command right from the start. Troy Bourke opened the scoring in the sixth minute after an assist from Thaler. After Lacroix equalised in the meantime, the home side pulled 3:1 ahead before the first break. However, the South Tyroleans proved stronger after the restart and quickly closed the gap to one goal through Bouramman. Jason Akeson even managed to equalise in the 34th minute. The visitors initially also had chances in the third period, but the game tipped completely in the Red Bulls' favour in the final ten minutes. Peter Schneider scored again in the 51st minute with his second goal of the evening - and it proved to be the game-winner. Peter Hochkofler and Lucas Thaler made sure of the decision within 14 seconds, Dennis Robertson scored to make the final score 7:3.
