The fourth-placed team from Salzburg remained without conceding a goal for the third time in the current championship in a clear 7-0 win over HK SZ Olimpija. Goalie Atte Tolvanen also secured Salzburg's third shutout on home ice with 16 saves, for him it was the sixth ICE game without a goal against, the first this season. The seven-time league champions dominated their first duel of the season with the Slovenians from the start and put the visitors under pressure early on: after Salzburg missed an early and long five on three powerplay, Ali Wukovits scored on the third PP with a one-time. He then doubled before the first intermission. Salzburg continued to dominate the game and scored two more goals when they had numerical superiority. In addition to Wukovits, Chay Genoway also scored a brace. It was the fifth defeat in a row for the Slovenians, which also lost their tenth place in standings.

Villach back on winning ways
EC DM Wärmepumpen VSV got back on the winning ways just two days after their derby defeat that ended a five-game winning streak, as the "Adler" prevailed at HC Pustertal Wölfe with 4-3. The third-ranked side now already has a ten-point lead over seventh-placed Hydro Fehérvár AV19. The "Adler" had lost their early lead through Alexander Rauchenwald (2.) by the 26th minute - the "Wölfe" played very offensively, putting 35 shots on goal in the first two periods. Despite the VSV equalizer in the meantime, the home team entered the final frame with a one-goal lead. There, Villach finally turned the game around with Andrew Desjardins (48.) and Anthony Luciani (52) scoring for the guests. Villach thus extended the negative trend of HC Pustertal, which suffered its fourth defeat in a row - yet moved up to tenth place in the table.
