EC Red Bull Salzburg - EV Zug 5:3 (3:1, 0:1, 2:1)
EC Red Bull Salzburg got off to a perfect start at the Red Bulls Salute in Kitzbühel. In the semi-final against EV Zug, Dominique Heinrich gave the ICE champions the lead already in the first minute. The defender skated alone on goal and finished into the short cross corner. After Chay Genoway (9th) made it 2:0 on power play, the guests from Switzerland became increasingly stronger. Salzburg goalkeeper David Kickert was able to distinguish himself several times, but in the twelfth minute he was helpless when Hofmann halved the deficit. However, Florian Baltram (14./PP) restored the two-goal lead with a deflected shot. In a game that was very physical for long stretches, Zug (Hofmann, 33rd) scored the only goal in the middle period. After the hosts had survived four shorthanded situations without conceding a goal, newcomer Troy Bourke made it 4:2 in the 47th minute. Peter Schneider answered Fabrice Herzog's goal (53rd) in the final minute with an empty-netter for the final score of 5:3. On Sunday, the Red Bulls will meet Mountfield HK in the final. The Czechs clearly beat Red Bull Munich 7:1 in the first game of the day.

HK SŽ Olimpija Ljubljana - MAC Budapest 9:1 (3:0, 3:1, 3:0)
After the clear 0:6 defeat in the preseason opener against Linz, Ljubljana showed themselves in scoring mood on Saturday at home on the Tivoli. Olimpija won the test match against MAC Budapest with 9:1. Nik Simsic, who scored a brace as did Rok Kapel, gave the Slovenians the lead after just a few seconds. When the team from the win2day ICE Hockey League already led 6:0 towards the end of the middle period, the Hungarians managed to score the consolation goal. In the final period, Ljubljana's 17-year-old defenceman Urban Podrekar also scored.
