EC Red Bull Salzburg faces an enormously difficult task. In the second leg of the Champions Hockey League round of 16, the Mozartstadt team must make up a 2-6 deficit. Nevertheless, the Red Bulls are confident after winning their last home game in the win2day ICE Hockey League 4-1 against Székesfehérvár, ending a long dry spell and putting in another really good performance. Defender Connor Corcoran will also be back for the return leg against Ingolstadt, but Ali Wukovits, Peter Hochkofler, Philipp Wimmer, and Lukas Schreier are still out with injuries.

The ERC Ingolstadt team is one of the strongest offensive teams in the top European leagues. Only Olimpija Ljubljana scores more goals in the league. The Red Bulls are one of the strongest defensive teams in the win2day ICE Hockey League. To still make it to the quarterfinals, the Red Bulls will need to have a great day both offensively and defensively.
