The Red Bull Hockey Juniors have done it again. For the third time in the "best-of-seven" series against S.G. Cortina Hafro, Salzburg found the decider in overtime. After a win in game one (in the 73rd minute) and another victory in game four (in the 71st minute), the Juniors followed it up with another win in the 73rd minute in the sixth semifinal. In the first period the hosts from Cortina still had a clear chance plus, but could not overcome goalkeeper Simon Wolf. In the second period, the tide turned. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors now stormed the box of Marco De Filippo - whom they could not beat at all in the fifth semifinal game - and succeeded. Timo Ruckdäschel made it 1-0 in the 27th minute. But Cortina's answer was not long in coming: Tommaso Traversa equalized seven minutes later in powerplay. In what was supposed to be the last period, the two goalies on both sides once again excelled. So the decision had to be found in the endless overtime (deciding games are played 5-on-5 until a decision is made). In overtime, the Red Bulls again had the better end for themselves. Vadim Schreiner, who is only 17 years old, scored his first goal in this series in the 73rd minute and probably the most important goal in his career. Thus, the "best-of-seven" series is tied at 3:3. The decisive seventh game will take place on Thursday from 19:30 in Salzburg.
